What’s everyone been seeing with the bait lately? Leaving tom morning and was wondering if I will be able to get mullet or menhaden yet. Will be in the Kiawah/Folly area. Thanks!

Caught 2 dozen mullet 6-8" in one cast net throw about 2 weeks ago in folly area. Haven’t been out since, working.

Mullet and mud minnows are thick in the creeks. Last several times I went for bait I caught mullet easily. You can fill a net with mullet if you go early am or at night at a low tide stage. I wouldn’t leave a minnow trap anywhere though. I got mine messed with last night. The old take 1 side off and throw it back in the water trick. Some people are such ace’s. Peanut menhadden have been around also but aren’t as reliable as mud minnows or mullet when it comes to availability.

Update: left ramp at daylight and fished/explored around till 2. The fish were MIA with multiple spots producing 0 except for 2 small flounder in the back of a creek… didn’t see any menahaden but mullet were plentiful in one of the creeks at low tide.
