Bonzo, I’ll keep your location secret. Thanks!

I wasn’t really asking for a location, but was more interested in “migration” pattern.
Example (I just made this up):
Start arriving in May in the harbor
Work there way up river by June
Should be everywhere by July

Do they actually migrate or stay and hatch from last year.
I pulled some tiny ones with the cast net and was just wondering how long it took for them to grow to bait size.

glad you can appreciate my warped sense of humor…typically we start seeing bait size shrimp showing up in the creeks around Morris Island somewhere May/June, depending on water temps…one year July 4th we pulled 10-15lbs out of small, shallow creeks with cast nets, nice eating size…

Yes, but that was before sequestration.

Are you saying the Shrimp have been furloughed this year?

do you need a license to net shrimp for bait?

You just need your saltwater fishing license. There is a seperate set of tags and an addition to your license to harvest shrimp over bait during the baited shrimping season.
