Are the bait shrimp around the Harbor, Wando, Cooper, yet? Went yesterday to a spot behind Morris where I used to catch them all the time and only caught one shrimp. Just curious, I don’t fish inshore like I used to when I was younger so maybe its just me.
Shrimp are there. You probably already know this but make sure you cast at low tide, preferably in a “hole”. However, if “hole” is more than 12-15 deep you will need a “taped” net to catch any quantity of shrimp (because a traditional net will collapse on itself if depth is more than 12-15 feet). I have not shrimped behind Morris Island so can’t speak to that area. Try some creeks with deep holes and I guarantee you will catch shrimp at low tide. Good luck. Another thought, a lot of shrimp are small this time of year. Depending upon the size of your net the small shrimp (perfect for bait) might be escaping.
