I am in search of a new 20 gallon bait tank. Would prefer a super bait tank 2, but as we all know, they are kinda like unicorns. Second option is an X-treme, which are readily available in many stores.
I guess my questions are, who has an X-treme? has anyone had any trouble out of an X-treme? and what are the chances of X-treme going out of business in the next 6 months (kinda like G&M)?

Nobody has an X-treme that wants to claim it?

Aren’t they relatively new? It may just be that most on here have bought theirs a whole back.
There’s some reviews on their FB page. Most, if not all, are very positive.

There are always bait tanks going up for sale on the striperboard if you are interested in used and can wait.

I did the Striper Soup conversion on a Moeller 26 gal. tank.

I think I’ve got about $200 invested. I’ve only used it a couple of time, but it seems to work pretty well. I added an on/off switch & rope handles. The only thing I want to do is add some kind of insulation for the hot months.

striperskiff - They’ve been out for @ a year now. I got in touch with a couple of people since yesterday and most have been pleased. I’m going to put my eyes on one this weekend because I haven’t seen one up close.
steelytom - I’ve been looking for a good used 20 gallon for a few weeks without success. Now shad season is upon us and I need a tank. lol
Happy Bob - I think that Moeller tank is probably the best designed “budget” tank I’ve seen! If this SB2/X-treme tank doesn’t work out, I will give them another look!

20 gallon is kind of small for transporting many gizzards of size… There’s not much to a bait tank that can go wrong that anyone cant fix …I’m pretty sure they have a UV resistant shell and that’s about the only catastrophic failure of concern… I have a 50 gallon SBT2… I catch or buy Gizzards and transport them to a 300 gallon tank at my house. I want to transport more bait than i would use in a day of fishing, so I like having the volume even though its a beast to rinse out and move between my truck and boat…

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…
I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…
Contact Lake hartwell outdoor center they may have one. Or contact Ron himself and get the super bait

After measuring 26 times, I think a 30g will fit. I also found a shop that has a 30g SBT2 in stock. Real estate is a premium in a 20’ boat that already has a built in 30g tank. lol Thanks for all of the help and suggestions.
