I’ve got an old Berry’s bait, tank that blew out of the boat a while back and busted the insulation off the sides. Does anyone know where I could get someone to spray insulation on it again. Already tried the Great Stuff can insulation and that didn’t work, so if you know of anyone I would like to try and get it sprayed, Thanks.
Was it just too big of an area for the spray stuff to work? If so, maybe you can try the canned stuff again and then surround it by wrapping some thick grey tape around the tank?

clean the area with denatured alcohol before foaming. It will give you a better surface for the foam to adhere

It stuck to the tank but just looked like crap.
wrap it in an insulating blanket for water heaters and duct tape. They make tape in lots of pretty colors now but white or something that reflects the heat would probably be best…

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…
I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…
I use this stuff …seems to work pretty good…has a good reflective shine to it like Woody suggests.

What is that “stuff” called, and where do you get it?
Not sure whats it called, but I picked it up from Lowes a few years ago. It’s right there along with the fiberglass insulation. It’s 2 aluminum surfaces seperated by thin bubble wrap, so besides being reflective, it also prevents any thermal heat transfer from the outer surface to the innner.
Since then, I’ve also seen some reference to aluminum tape somewhere. They may have that as well.

it’s hot water heater insulating wrap

Actually it is not hot water tank insulation. The product that Lowe’s sells is Reflectix Insulation. Info available at this link http://www.reflectixinc.com/basepage.asp?Page=Double+Reflective+Insulation&pageIndex=622
I am going to try to glue it to my new bait tank with either marine carpet cement or spray on contact cement. I will post about how well that works. They also sell the seam tape, which is reflective also.
