Bait Tanks???

Hey Y’all,
I saw a bait tank at the Prosperity Flea Market Saturday. It was called Ed’s Bait Tanks. A guy outside of Newberry makes them. One can be seen at:
www.edsbaittanks.com
The insulated model is $140.00.
Have any of y’all seen these? How are they? What kind do you use? What is a good one? etc.
Thanks,
TheHawg

I use a Ron Vest Super Bait Tank II. Mine is 40 gallons and keeps bb’s alive for days at a time(most of the time see my post on cut bait fishing)
If you are going to fish with blue backs it takes a pretty good bait tank to keep them alive. You need something to keep the temp constant and filter out the scales and other impurities in the water.

There are several others that are somewhat comprable and do a fine job as well.

I think my 40 gal tank was $500 or so(Christmas present from my wife:sunglasses::sunglasses:)

I have a round 30 gal, get my bait at Better Bait on Hwy 6 near the entrance to Jake’s landing. They always add the rock salt, fish save and foam away to the tank water for ya. I take four 2 liter soda bottles full of frozen ice and add one every hour or so to keep the water in the bait tank under 80 degrees. I’ve kept bait live for up to 12 hours that way. I also got some foam away at Ace HW in Cayce for the times I catch bait by net or sabiki. Anything you can do to keep bb herring frisky is good.

Anybody got a good way to get free herring via net or sabiki? I have not been able to get more than a few this year at the towers.

Can’t remember the name of mine but I bought it from Richard at Lake World on the Lexington side of the dam. Its been a great tank its more of an oval shaped tank that has 2 compartments one for the bait witch is totally round and the other part is the filtration system to get rid of all your scales and such! Its been awesome for me!
