Bait Tube??

I like having the option of live bait onboard and don’t have a baitwell on my kayak. I have dragged a Frabill bait bucket behind the yak and don’t like the drag it produces. I’ve been thinking about making a bait tube out of 4" thin wall PVC with a cap on one end, and a screw off plug at the other. Drill small holes for water to get in and out and attach a line to it to tie off to the yak. I figure a torpedo shape will pull better through the water.

Any thoughts, any better ideas?? Taking the kayaks to the Keys in June and starting to plan ahead.

Thanks

Works just fine, but they tend to fill with water and sink.

I just pick up my Frabill and set it between my legs when paddling place to place

Boat drinks, Waitress I need 2 more boat drinks!

I have also sit my Frabill between my legs. If you want to keep your butt dry you can put a milk crate on the back of the yak and sit it in that.

That is my Frabill technique as well… Got tired of dragging it!
