Bait

Does Haddrell’s have live bait at the Mt Pleasant store and if so is Shem creek the best ramp to go to from there?

Yes, they carry it but call ahead to make sure they are not sold out. As far as boat ramps… that all up to you some would say yes some would say no

Thanks .Would remley point work better?

Depends on how well ya get along with wall to wall paddleboarders. At shem you don’t even need a boat to reach the fishing grounds , just walk to it on top of the PBs:imp::imp::imp:

Either boat ramp works well. As stated, Shem does get pretty busy with the kayak/paddleboard rentals. The other thing you have to watch is the tide(high) at Shem. Not sure what size boat you’re fishing out of but if it’s a boat with a t-top, there have been times I’ve been very close to hitting the bridge on a large tide with my boat’s top. Both ramps tend to get very busy due to the fact that Mt Pleasant has plenty of water contact yet only two public boat ramps. Makes for quite congested launch zones.

Remley’s comes with its own challenges. There’s more room, no paddleboarders/kayakers, but parking can be a PITA. I’ve got to Remley’s before and people were parking all the way up near the pink house at the curve. If you go early, I (me personally at least) would say Remley’s is easier overall.
