Bait?

I’ve been down to the coast the past two weekends (live in the upstate) but regrettably haven’t been able to do much fishing. The couple of times I did get down to the water, I haven’t seen much bait. Is anyone else noticing a shortage of baitfish or am I in the wrong place at the wrong time?

Note: Both weekends were in the Edisto area.

There is bait everywhere. Last time at Edisto the entire south side of the beach had bait running high tide incoming and outgoing 20ft of the beach saw Jack’s and tarpon, caught sharks and all the creeks on the way there had mullet cruising the surface. Large mullet at the inlet 6 to 10 inches and fingers in the creek. I’m sure shrimp are there as well.

Thanks for the input 40, I regrettably wasn’t able to focus on fishing much the last couple of weeks. I’m sure the combination of choppy weather, poor timing, and lack of attention are what kept me from seeing bait.
