Baitman and Bonzo 10/16/13 JIYC

I’ll say it one more time, I hate shrimping a high tide…there I said it…now to the report…

poles set and bait in the water right at sunset and high tide near JIYC in 10’ of water…lost two poles, recovered one, test throws 10 mins later and they shrimp were already there…dolphins ran our poles all dern night long…I’m gonna blame it on them…we made too many passes and forgot eat our fried chicken…ended with about 1/4 cooler of medium shrimp at best…loaded up and back on the hill by 9:30 or so…we were picking up our bait balls all night long so I know we were hitting the bait, but we just never saw the numbers or size we hoped for…beautiful night on the water and only two other boats in that area last night…few boats headed to Crab Bank…let’s go do it again…oh yea and once we give Marshgrass her “cut” I might have enough for a cocktail

Thanks for an actual honest report…What isJIYC?? Judging by the size of the shrimp(next to beer can) and my experience,I would say that you were on the shrimp and lost many many more through the net than you landed…Aren,t the bigger shrimp closer to the ocean??

Good choice of beer -my choice too. Toppy JIYC = James Island Yacht Club

What side of the yacht club were you on

grab the gaff and another cold beer

actually we were between JIYC and DNR…near where they are clearing land at the “nunnery”

and toppyblue, that area is about as close to the ocean as you can get…

also caught a small ray, 3 croakas and a tonguefish…it was a good night…:face_with_head_bandage:

Again,

You could sit in my backyard and drink a beer and catch that without ever splashing the boat… (sad face) You could even bring Mrs. Bonzo and she could talk with Mrs. Sailfish about window treatments and accent walls and color pallets and all that stuff.

Translation:
We lost two poles, one of them being an end pole. Well we found said end pole and put it where the other pole had been lost in the middle of the lineup. That Phantom pole on the end had bait balls on it and we guesstimated where it was and threw on it each pass. Sometimes it caught more shrimp than another marked pole with bait.

If you think Baitman is tough to read, you should try talking to him sometimes…
