I am getting ready to buy a case of hoo from these folks. I haven’t used them in a couple of years. Just want to make sure they are still on the up and up. Any bad juju on them?
Great bait, Atlantic Game in Tackle should have some fresh winter caught ones in a few weeks, we will store the bait for you in an 18ft -15 degree freezer as well and you can pick it up when you need it
Agreed. Get your baitmasters local, either Haddrell’s or Atlantic will provide very good bait…Suppost the local shops, they support you!
Ditto on supporting the local shops, get off the internet for fishing supplies like bait, hooks, line, even some reels/rods occasionally. Local shops are there when you need them in a hurry on Friday night or Sat.; and they give some good advice for free. If we quit supporting them they may not be around long, like the local hardware, etc. getting eaten up by the box stores and the internet. Just sayin’…

Here we go again!!

I always buy my ballyhoo locally. Haddrell’s in WA is where I normally shop for most tackle needs. I consistently get good-quality ballyhoo from them, and I’m pretty picky. They have the right kind of freezer. I’d honestly rather my bait be in their commercial freezer than be in a residential freezer in my basement, where the temps are not nearly as consistent. Not sure about the other tackle stores around town or what kind of freezers they have, because I just haven’t bought ballyhoo from others in a long time. I’m happy with Haddrell’s bait, though. Getting bad bad is a bummer, especially if you’re in a hurry and don’t realize it until you’re out 60 miles offshore. So, when I find a place that consistently provides solid bait, I stick with them.

Go local. I buy ours from Haddrell’s WA. You can reserve what you want by the case early, and they’ll store them in their freezer to take out as you need them. Too many times I wanted small ballyhoo only to learn they were all sold. Not any more!

I believe they are offering a good discount and will store your bait as well. They just redesigned their store layout which works much better.

We have baitmasters in small, med, select, and horse at The Charleston Angler. We will store them for you as well, and they are 10% off if you buy before March 6th.
