Bamboo in Mt. P

when it comes to sushi, hands down it has got to be Shi Ki on East Bay downtown its in the shopping center with blockbuster and Ted’s… Real oldschool place, the chef who owns/operates the place is an old school chef, very authentic sushi rolls, creative, but not crazy like many of those sushi bars/clubs… try it sometime you will be surprised

I had sushi at Wasabi in Summerville Sat evening. It was fantastic and the service was excellent while the scenery was excellent also. They are a bit proud of it, but you goota pay for good stuff. I would also like to give a shout to the Red Leaf on Dorchester Road(oakbrook beside the Noisy Oyster in the center) Wifey and I ate there a while back and it was excellent with a good price. If they would market a bit they could have the market cornered on that side of town.

Agreed... I'm not sure it's the best in Charleston b/c I haven't tried them all, but I've been to most of the well known joints and like this one the best. Does it ever throw you off that it's usually empty or close to it when you go? It had me worried the first time, but I've been back several times since.

Went to Bamboo last week and thought the sushi was really good on one roll and the other roll wasn’t anything special…Kinda pricey as well, usually get out of tsunami for about $60 but Bamboo was closer to $90

We went again last Thursday. I like the atmosphere but it is a tad pricey. I think we’re going to stick to Sushi Haro from now on.

nah never worries me, I eat at shi ki around two to three times a week and i catch them with quite a few tables. they do no marketing what so ever and i talked to the chef last time and he says he does quite a bit of catering, i think hes happy with what he does

nah never worries me how empty it is, they really move people in and out of there… I eat at shiki three times a week and catch them busy at times, plus i talked with the chef last time and hes happy with whatever they do with no marketing but he does alot of catering

I went to infusions last weeekend to have a beer on the top deck. The menu looks great. I love curry…and they have 3 curry dish selections. Their Sushi menu is really unique. I like it b/c if you have a frind that does not like seafood (weirdo) then they offer alternative sushi rolls. They have a few rolls that include filet and teryiaki chicken. Never seen those options before. I cant wait to try their food.

Its unfortunate that every resturaunt in that location fails. The view is great from the top deck! It seems like it would be a good investment…then “bam” the unlucky investor gets crushed. The business owners need to market more…especially with the competition on the other side of the creek.

yeah i just started working there part time as a foodrunner, its decent the sushi is good though, i like it. ya it would make more sense to open it in the warmer months but for being what it is and where it is everything is slowly coming together.
