Bank, Wade fishing

Finally decided to get out and try to fish the area after being stationed here for 3 yrs. Can yall tell me any areas that I could wade or fish from the bank? Being a FL boy I know that the fishing is a lot different, but just need a little help in finding legal areas.

you should try out Jason’s lake in Edisto, it has great bank fishing

You have to be with a child in order to fish Jason’s lake and it is only open Thur-Sun I believe.

Castnet live bait at Hooker Lake.

Do I have to have a freshwater fishing license to cast net at Hooker lake?

The dividing line between saltwater and freshwater on the rivers listed is defined in this section, and all waters of the rivers and their tributaries, streams, and estuaries lying seaward of the dividing lines are considered saltwaters, and all waters lying landward or upstream from all dividing lines are considered freshwaters for purposes of licensing and regulating commercial and recreational fishing.

  1. On Cooper River (PDF) the dividing line is the seaward shoreline of Old Back River at the confluence of Old Back River downstream from Bushy Park Reservoir.

My interpretation: Because Hooker lake is feed by tidal waters from Goose Creek it is a Saltwater Licensed area.

I’m retired with 20 years in the Army . I cant get a pass to fish on base .

Polebender,
Like I said, Hooker Lake is a good place to start for bait.
Just sit there and look at the lake, you will see the activity and the best place to throw.
You will also find plenty of things to destroy your net. Use a cheap net.

Thanks for the help. Hopefully I have some pictures for you guys.
