How many of you use your bank’s APP and do any of your banking on your smartphone? Is this any more risky than banking online on a computer? Any additional risks or security tips?

Just don’t do it on an unsecure wifi connection. I look at my balance on my phone and sometimes make transfers or stuff like that.

I use mine some (Suntrust). Mainly to make sure deposits and transfers took place or to verify that I made a payment when I have an “Oh crap, did I pay that bill?” moment.
EDIT: this just reminded me that I need to pay the place where I park my boat…

My new favorite thing is Mobile Deposits. All I have to do is take a picture of the front and back of the check and upload it. My dog won’t like not going to the bank since he gets treats each time.

i seriously doubt there is any security risk. I use mine constantly for the above mentioned reason. And Fritz is right! Mobile deposit is the best thing to come around in a while!

I promise you there is a security risk. Secure wireless protocols have been compromised. But I doubt it is less secure than using your PC/Laptop.
Mobile deposits will help me tremendously this summer. I did notice the “limits” to how much can be deposited in a 30 day period which may be an issue in July.

Yeah, I forgot about the mobile deposits, as I rarely receive checks. But it is great when I do. I rarely go inside a bank.

Hey D, I use mine (Regions) alot and no problems.
They did send out a Fraud Alert stating that when logging in if you are ever directed to a page requesting you to edit your security questions DO NOT DO IT then call your bank and report.

I use my Suntrust App on my Iphone, never had any issues. Agreed just be careful on unsecure wifi areas, you never know.
