Bar keepers Friend

I recently bought a 2002 bay boat that had been washed, but hadn’t been cleaned very well. I think part of the reason I got a good price on the boat was its dingy appearance.

I cleaned the deck with a clorox-based cleaner, and the deck looked better, but it didn’t touch the rust stains. I had forgotten about Bar keepers Friend until I read about it on another site. It took care of the rust stains with minimal scrubbing and about 5 mins. I decided to go over the entire deck again, and in less than 20 minutes it was back to a perfectly white deck. I’m just glad the original owner didn’t know about it.

After using Bar Keepers Friend, be sure to wax over the area, to keep your boat from having a dull looking finish.

I’ll be trying it for the first time, I left a piece of steel wool siting on the deck…then it rained. Oooops.

Bar Keeper’s Friends is amazing. Check out my post “Rust Stains” on this section. I posted before and after pics. Its a really good cleaning product and its cheap!

Any place to buy it here?

You can’t catch fish on a dry line

Ace Hardware has it in the upstate.

Always found it at Wal Mart for around $2 - in the household cleaning section, it’s a stainless cleaner.

Saw it today at harris teeter in the cleaning isle. They had the liquid and the powder.
