Barracuda boats

who knows about these boats? i guess they are out of FL. I am looking for something in the 18ft range to fit in the garage, and comes with a port-a-pottie space. in that small size i am limited to the KeyWest 189FS and the Robalo 180. I like both but this looks like another option. Any idea who these people are???

You might want to take a look at a Sea Hunt Ultra 196. The center console is deep enough to accommodate a porta potty and it is a very nice ride. You can get trailer with a detachable tongue that will save you about 20-24 inches in your garage. Wesco trailers will be able to make whatever you need. http://seahuntboats.com/new25/boats/ultra-series/ultra-196

The only Barracuda I’m familiar with is the one made by Beneteau. I just googled the one you’re referring to and I’ve never heard of them. Looks like yet another new builder trying to get a piece of that hot 17-25 foot center console pie. I’m not sure why people think they can build the exact same boat as the big guys and make a profit. Unless they sell them at a much cheaper price which usually means cheaper materials and cheaper labor. But like I said, I’ve never heard of them so what do I know?

I’m guessing you saw one at an attractive price?

Stick to the Key West, it won’t cost anymore than the Barracuda and be a hell of a much better boat. Even if it costs you $1000-$1500 more, you will easily get that back in resale.

Geronimo hit the nail on the head. RESALE.

I received a base price of the 189FS before with a 115 Yamaha and no options for $27k. I believe I have seen these Barracudas listed for $26.9k with a 115 Suzuki. I’ll take the KW and Yamaha power everyday and twice on Sunday.

thanks guys. I just hate having limited options. But that is what I get when I limit myself to keeping it in the garage. I only have 260" in depth to work with so I have mainly stuck to KW and Robalo since they have the deep console option. The sea hunt has a deeper console but you have to get to the 20’ boat to get that option. That is to deep for me. And since you are not going to take a 20ft out any deeper than an 18ft, i don’t see a need to pay the extra for storage to keep it out of my garage. I have shown my wife the Pioneer 180 and the KW 189FS. This weekend I will show her the Robalo R180 and the NautiStar. I know the Pioneer and NS don’t have the deep console but it gives her something to compare against. If I get time I may run by the Barracuda dealer just to beat on the sides and get up in it to see how the fit and finish look. Maybe they are the next great innovative thing… Maybe they are just a cheap copy… Won’t know till I check them out…

Oh, and Mango, I didn’t see one for an attractive price. Just came across them on boat trader and looked them up. I see the 18ft has a pottie option so I thought i would look into it. I do like the styling of it though…
