They said they were coming many years ago. They were going to be an anchor at a new town center type shopping place on Riverwatch parkway. The whole thing fell through when the economy went south.
Any word on where or when?
Now there’s a Costco on the spot where BP was going.
Just got some more news…Cabella’s is coming as well.
The Cabella’s is going to be built where BP was GOING to be next to Costco.
The BP is going to be next to Carmax at the Wheeler Rd/I-20 intersection. Scheduled to open fall 14/spring 15.

I really pumped about both. esp. Cabelas. Plus they’ll be closer for me.
The area seems to be turning around after years of stagnation. Where I live in Aiken we’re getting a lot of new stuff including Academy Sports that opened just last week.
'Hope you guys didn’t have any decent local tackle shops. If you did, they just went out of business. I will be very disappointed if Bass Pro or Cabela’s makes it into the Charleston area. We have some great shops that have some great people that do a great job. 'Glad you’re happy about BP and Cabela’s.

AMEN!! I have been in Bass Pro in Myrtle Beach and Savannah… Both are OK, buy you just can’t get that “Local” experience and personalized customer service that you get at a small time local shop…

That will not change with me. I can’t get the service or some of the equipment I have purchased at BP or Cabellas.

Bass Pro is a great place to “see” stuff and to wander around but I rarely buy anything there.
