Batteries

Opinions wanted on how many batteries are needed on a boat with a radio, stereo, and lights etc. I have a starting and one other(lights, etc) besides the trolling motor battery. 3 total. Too many? Too less? Thanks.

is it a 12 or 24 volt trolling motor
if its a 12, I would probably only have 2
1 starting battery with my electronics, and 1 deep cycle for the trolling motor, with a perko to use the trolling motor battery as a back up starting battery
if its 24, then same thing, only 2 for trolling, and one for starting.
the only exception, would be if you have a large amp for the stereo

I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com

I use 1 grp 27 agm dual purpose battery to start the engine, run the 12v trolling motor and power electronics. Works great. Saves weight. I generally re-charge after every trip.

Chris, I always heard that there could be interference with graph in relation to having it with other electronics. Guess that’s not the case. Starting will run all the electronics all day?

Thanks man.
