Does anyone run automotive batteries for the trolling motor? It’s in a bay boat so they don’t get shook that bad.

You could probabbly do it short term. From what I think I understand regular batteries don’t hold up well like the deep cycle batteries do and will not have a very long service life before you’ll have to replace them.
I was looking at the warranty 1year marine and 5 years regular battery.

you need deep cycle battereis for a trolling motor. When you run deep cycle batteries low(deep cycling), the battereis will accepet a charge and return to full voltage. A car battery is a starting battery, its not designed to discharge as deep as a deep cycle, It may return to near full voltage whe recharged, but it usually looses a bit each time you run it down. Look at the battery and compare the amp hour rating, a stafrting battery usually doesnt have as much reserve as a deep cycle, making the usuage shorter
