Battery drain issue

Just got a used 2014 Pioneer 197 with Yamaha F150 a couple of weeks ago and still learning about it. Equipped with 2 batteries and 4 position Perko switch. I have noticed that when switch is in “off” position, I can still use both trim/tilt and power-pole. I have not traced cables around yet, but I assume that this means that the trim/tilt and power-pole are direct wired to the batteries? Would this be a normal arrangement? Most importantly, when switch is “off” my batteries are loosing power over a couple week’s time sitting on the trailer. Any ideas?

something definitely is not right
the ONLY thing that should work with the switches in the off position is the automatic float switch for the bilge pump

Ditto what Chris V said.

Modern VHF radios also are not completely off when off at the radio switch. Put an in-line on/off rocker switch on the dash to turn them off.

Just like your LCD/Plama TV - the little red light is on, on standby using power.
