Ok I have 3 batteries for my yammaha 115 4 stroke. I go about 20-25 time a year (inshore)and my batt’s are 4 or 5 years old. One is a starter battery and 2 are for the trolling motor but I can switch all to the motor if needed? How long do batteries last and what are the signs they are on their way out. I do trickle charge them the night before I go out but can not keep them pluged in, the boat sits in a boat yard.
thoughts on when to replace? signs I need to?
I would replace the cranking battery now, and use the deep cycle until they quit
I’m now at www.teamcharlestonmarine.com
Reverse your logic, fully charger them after you use them. Check the water lever after they are charged. Check voltage 24 hours after full charge, it should be 12.7 VDC for 100% charge. Anything lower than 12.2 or 12.1 I would replace them. It is suggested to replace the trolling motor batteries in pairs.

Is there such a thing as a 24 volt battery, or is 2 batteries the only way to go for a 24 volt trolling motor? Also, I thought the deep cycle batteries weren’t supposed to be charged by the engine, right?
u dont want all them volts in yer boat… 12 is enough to be safe
