Bay Boat?

I am trying to find a bay boat that is big enough where it can hold my family of 5. I am looking at the Yellowfin 24 but I would like some help. Thanks!

Any 24 bay boat will handle a group of 5. Scout,Shearwater, SeaHunt,Pathfinder, Key West, Sportsman, all make a 24 bay that would work, Depends on your checkbook and what features are important.

That is plenty of boat! I have a 21 sea pro and we can fit that many easily. The rear bench seat helps a lot! Good luck

Yellowfin 24? If you’re budget starts there, good on you. All of the 21’ comfortably handle 5 ppl. Rear bench is a must. If you’re leaning towards a Yellowfin I don’t think you really need an answer to the question though…

I wouldnt say that the Yellowfin 24 is a family friendly boat. Nicely built with a cult like reputation. Family oriented bay boats that come to mind are the Sportsman, Everglades, Scout and Sea Hunt

Pioneer is also making some really nice family type bay boats.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I just looked at the yellowfin 24 - looks like a really nice boat, but does not scream comfort to me. I would say it depends on what you are trying to do with the boat - I have a 21’ Sea Hunt ultra 210, which I love. T-Tops, ton’s of Rod holders etc. make off-shore trips fun, and the 12’ draft makes it possible for me to get pretty deep in creeks and channels. The snap down cushions and padded backrests/leaning posts on sides make it very comfortable for my family - and it all comes off in just a few minutes and stores in the head. I use it for cruising around, tubing, in-shore fishing, shrimping, off-shore fishing etc.

It’s not the BEST in-shore boat, it’s not the BEST off-shore boat, and it’s not the best cruiser, nor the most comfortable option. Does all of them well enough where a lot of boats do some well and others not at all.

If your criteria is only that it can hold your family of 5 your choices are limitless. Heck a 17 Carolina Skiff can hold your family of 5 and probably has 11 max on the sticker in their modified V hull. What do you want to do mostly with it?

I don’t really believe that he needs an answer either if his pockets are that deep. But, Yellowfins are fishing boats first. So if family cruising is more your thing and you want/need to spend that kind of money, then there others that might better suit your needs. Some that come to mind have already been mentioned.

I have a 1900 tidewater baymax. It is rated for 7 people. It is equipped with a bench seat at the back and has other seating areas. Seven would be pushing it, but worth a look for a larger series.

Got a 24 Pathfinder I’ll sell you

Wait for it…
