We went south Bulls Bay today 9/13 and it sucked big time. Weather was great but shrimping terrible. Lots of boats and it looked like we were not the only ones not catching much.

Went to St.Helena today with pretty bad results. Once the tide slowed down, the water cleared up and the shrimp cleared out. We covered the bottom of the cooler on the first pass and that was it. We waited out the tide change and pulled out at 6 with a little bit of shrimp and a pretty good mess of whiting that we caught waiting on the shrimp to show back up.

went to south end Sunday. 3/4 cooler nice shrimp. Two coolers menhaden and other assorted fish. Water cleared up and shrimp were gone. Did a black gill survey as we headed and about 1/4 of the shrimp appeared to have some degree of infection. hope to get after them again soon. Long drive from Clemson for 25 lb in freezer. PS new Black Pearl Gold a killer net. Can even open into a moderate breeze with a low cast.

Went out today caught about half a cooler of nice ones but really worked for them…was better opening day imo…

Pops got 2/3 cooler yesterday fairly easily…he tends to take things easy and eat boiled peanuts more than shrimp.

A buddy of mine went yesterday and told me he got about 1/2 cooler, but really had to work for them. Back in the hey day I would drive down for the day to shrimp with him a couple of times during the season and it was no problem to fill a cooler, but it seems like it is really inconsistent these days.

I think that slow moving water because of the west wind makes it kinda tough. Could be wrong, but’t I don’t have much luck on the Bay with the west winds. And the boat traffic was unreal, my last trip on a weekend.

Shrimped north end bulls bay Saturday night.3/4 cooler medium to large throwing 10 ft 5/8 .about 5 other boats out there . Amazing evening
