If people are reporting catching kings off the folly pier, can anyone give me advice on trolling off the beaches for kings and spanish? I know trolling too close to the pier may get people upset (or lead weights thrown at ya!), but if you are 1/4 mile 1/2 mile off the pier, can you troll out there legally? How about off the other beaches like kiawah or sullivans?
i would think as long as you give the pier a wide birth there is nothing illegal about it. i am really interested in doing it sometime if you need some extra hands. pm me if you need some company sometime
I have trolled in 13’ft of water just off of the beach before and found kings. Theres nothing illegal about it. Give the pier enough room and if you see that they have one on give it alot more room.
Red X Anglers, If you dont know about us ask.
From sc dnr regs : It is unlawful to fish from a boat within 300 feet of commercial fishing piers
extending into the Atlantic Ocean. However we have had good fishing near the folly pier the past couple seasons.
