I was looking for some info. I was wanting to try it out but I live 2 and a half hours away. Are there any ducks down there? Is there any camping allowed? And will I need to bring the boat?
Yes there are ducks. More than most places.
But you cannot just go on there and hunt. It is a draw-only WMA.
There is a spot for camping, yes.

In the book it said that the sampson island part was weds and Saturdays
Well, you asked about Bear Island.
Technically, Sampson Island is part of it, but it is a Category II area, unlike Bear Island which is a category I.
Category I areas are managed for ducks, category II areas are not. They’re simply public land that you can hunt on certain days. Sampson Island is Wednesday and Saturdays, yes. I have not hunted on the island itself, but have in Sampson creek, where the same rules apply.
I would suggest calling Bear Island or going there and checking about the camping area. Not sure if it’s open all the time or not. I’m also unfamiliar with the boat access on Sampson.
I’d sure like to know how you do if you do go.

Thanks man.
Bear Island camping is only open during their quota hunts otherwise the gate is locked.
