Honestly, without the T/O’s, it is a completely different game. I did think Carolina’s defense did a good job for the most part. With the exception of the one 6 minute drive and a few long plays, just like previous years, they have kept Clemson’s O off the field. The time of possession was USC 38 min/Clemson 22 min.
Have to agree with Shevlin, Clemson choked. I have still yet to see the Gamecocks play one really good game this entire season. Losing to Tennessee should never have happened and until they can beat EVERYONE they are supposed to beat they can’t be considered real contenders.

Thank you DF. Trying to look at this as unbiased as possible. Even my father in law (a ND grad) told me the same thing, that Clemson played absolutely terrible and somehow was still in towards the end
Humphries never drops punts. Not one all year. But he had two which both gave USC the ball and turned into 14 points.
That’s straight up choking. Not like USC dominated or something.
Not sure if you can say that Connor Shaw was the real equalizer there. He played a good game and extended a few drives with his legs but Clemson really choked and beat themselves.
Can’t give the other team the ball on your own 30 yard line 3 times and expect to win. Even Spurrier said after the game “Clemson always seems to play their worst against us”. He is right.
Might sound like sour grapes not sure how else you look at the fact that the game was still tied 17 to 17 even after Clemson’s first 4 turnovers.
outside of our stupid punt return fumbles one play stands out to me. That 4 & 1 when it was tied up late was not a Clemson offsides…it was a clear false start by the USC center. He put his head down and moved his hand. Even the announcers said it USC got away with it.
Horrible call and USC should have punted instead extending the drive and scoring to go up 24 to 17. Probably would not have changed the outcome of the game but you never know.
That’s loser talk… I expected more from you.
Yep, it is, but man its really hard to stomach such a bad missed call that turned into 7 points and the lead for the cocks.
I agree with the trick play. I would have let Tahj keep going. I think Clemson’s schedule had as much to do with this game as any. They were in no dog fights this year. They got destroyed by Florida State and really were not threatened by any other team all year. When you are used to running whatever plays you want and dictating the game you don’t learn how to win tough games. The punt return fumbles were bad, but the one Boyd fumbled was a good play where the ball was just taken away from him plain and simple. His first pick was also a good play by Skai Moore, who is turning out to be an excellent line backer and a poor read by a quarterback who should know better by now. I was impressed with Clemson’s defensive line. Last year they could not stop the run even when the loaded the box and tried. This year they stood strong and really displayed some good tackling skills. Dabo needs to spend more time recruiting some good lineman and less time on the glitzy guys.
You forgot about the Georgia game. That was a dog fight.
As a fan of neither team (although I AM an ACC guy)…I have to say that SC kicked Clemson’s ass.
Choking or not choking…part of the game is to NOT choke! If you can’t handle the pressure, you are not going to be a winning team.
“We beat ourselves” is crap talk. The Tigers got beat. SC took key Tigers out of the game. You call it “choking”…I call it smart play on SC’s part. SC worked on the minds of the Tigers.
The Tigers came in wanting to choke the chicken…but they themselves are the ones who choked…and that was by design by SC.
Let’s be honest, Clemson played 3 games all year and had ample time to prepare for each. They are 1 and 2. With both losses being by double digits and the only win to a Georgia squad late in the game at home. Your program is really not any better the acc opponents you play are getting worse.
Set the trap boys, we going to pass through them again!!
Clemson lost last night period. Call it whatever you want but whenever you turn the ball over like that, you aren’t going to win. 3 times they still had an outside shot, 4, 5, 6 times and they have no shot.
Take the turnovers out and it’s not even close. Shoulda, woulda, coulda doesn’t mean a thing, they just didn’t.
Congrats Chickens, you got another one.
Maybe the new QB will have better luck next year.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Loser talk. This is exactly what I expected from you.
yep, it was 1 bad call. and nothing USC did to win.
just sad
1 bad call that had a major impact on the game (allowing USC to continue the drive and take the lead in the 4QT).
Yes, USC did some great things to win…they executed basic football plays and did not choke.
So then did Clemson pull a Clemson and lose a game they should have won? I'm confused, I was in the stadium and from what I can tell the Cocks beat them, There were bad calls that went against them also but they rose above it. The refs even tackled Connor Shaw on his way to a touchdown, but the cocks overcame it and still scored. Stop making excuses and admit your team got beat.
