Beating the Wind on Tues

I didn’t think it was a good idea, per the forecast, but I got out on the water yesterday for the first time since last December. Time flies by faster each year. The wind was a howlin’ on my little boat (17 mph with higher gusts), but we found us a calm spot (thank God), along with some hungry fish (also thank God ). Quincy joined me, and together, we abducted about 25 smallish reds (est. 14-17") and a handful of trout–all released but two. Despite the wind, it was a nice, relaxing day. The water was fairly muddy, understandably, and the fish all ate green and white grubs. Most fish were caught on falling tide, but the trout didn’t show up to play in numbers until we were about ready to head home, on the incoming (the water was also clearing a little). I always enjoy good company like Quincy. Have a good week, all. I would love to hit the water again on Friday, but I may have to travel.

Thanks again lee for a good day on the water with high winds. before going out I would've bet we wouldn't catch 2 fish. I guess that's when secret spots come in handy!

Good to see you fishin’, Lee. We still need to hit the water sometime…

You’re more than welcome, bro. Let me know when you want to hit the water again. Now that the cool of the air has me thinking about fishing again, I intend to fish a good bit through the remainder of the year if possible.

Good to hear Lee! I know how you feel. I fish less and less every year. Glad you had a good day!
