Just an invite for all. We will be having a Kayak/Canoe fishing gathering on the 5th of November. We are calling it the Beaufort Area Redfish Flotilla (BARF for short).
We will be fishing the Beaufort area, especially the Hunting Island lagoon on Saturday. The plan is to have most of the fishermen meet and put in at Hunting Island Lagoon in the morning and fish until we are tired. Although you can fish anywhere you want. The idea is to have the waters filled with Kayak/Canoe Fishermen, and to see about the potential for a future tournament. The bigger the turn out, the better the potential to get local sponsors in the future.
Afterwards, we are planning on having some Frogmore stew at a soon to be disclosed location. (Subject to change of course) ;-p
Anyone interested can meet on Friday night at McPhearson’s Barbeque in Port Royal at about 6 P.M. (Paris Avenue, right side, just past the 21-1/2 MPH sign.), or simply arrive at the Hunting Island Lagoon on Saturday morning.

Beerbuzz and I are camping Friday night at the state park (fishing Friday and Sat). Hopefully, we are gonna fry a mess of trout Friday night with a cold refreshment.
Be nice to meet some of you.
Reminder, this is the weekend. Hope to see many of you there.

I couldn’t get the camp site so am going down and back Friday and Saturday. If anyone would like to meet up or share the ride… email me.
Wish that I could fish with ya’ll this week but I can’t get off work. YOTF, I hope that BARF will be an annual event. Let me know if there is any way to help keep it going.

Just got back from the lagoon. Not much happening from 9am-noon, but when the water got low the fish started biting. 2 flounder, 1 trout, 1 eel on minnows. The chicken was hot today, especially at low tide. 1 flounder, 2 spottails, 15 or so nice trout (15"-18"). 18" spottail on 1/4 blue crab. Very little bait in water.
So many fish missed it wasn’t funny. The weather could not have better.
going back tom.
Saturday was GREAT.
A total of 6 fishermen showed up, and almost immediately started catching Seatrout. Not sure of the end of day tally, Cutmullet probably has a better final score.
I know I caught 10 Seatrout in about 5 hours time. I caught my first on a Flyrod too… a 16"er… Woot…
I know Cutmullet had several Trout and at least on flounder when I left around 1 P.M.
Attending were:
Cutmullet
OysterCracker
Fichyssoise
Fichyssoise’s Son
Myself
and my Non-Forum fishing buddy Erik.
I would love to hear what the others end of day talley was.
Hopefully it will be a annual event.

Congrats to all! I wish I could have been there. I had a business trip to a tourist trap in the Bahamas. I would have rather been in a yak up to my ears in Sea Trout! I will defineatly make it next year or if you have a spring event? Tight Lines.
I ended with 8 keepers trout, 1/2 doz undersize, 4 mostly small flounder, 1 bluefish. Tried to give the fish to a bank fisherman, that took offense to the offer (weird dude). 100ft down the bank were 4 natives that were more than happy to share my fish.
Where did the biting gnats come from? , been really thick last few days. They drove me off the water yesterday at Bushypark with only 1 trout.
