I went out on Broad River in my kayak with the goal to catch a Bull Red. It took a couple tries to get my anchor to stick in 45ft of water, but once it did I was able to catch a few whiting for bait. I ended up getting a nice bull around 40inches long. I couldn’t get an exact measurement because my measuring board was too short.

It took a long time to get it fully revived and get it to swim back down, but it did eventually. I lost my whole anchor setup in the process. Here is the video I made of that fishing day if you are interested: https://youtu.be/1OxI-qX9ORU

Heck of a fish and fight.

Looks like you could have needed to vent it’s swim bladder or used a deep release rig.
