Beautiful Inshore Day!

Put in at Steamboat Landing around 11am. Only 1 other trailer in the lot. Went looking for some trout and found plenty willing to cooperate. I fished the main river flats and shell banks as well as the creeks and found that the trout were mainly in the smaller creeks around structure. Deep bends with rocks, trees, and docks in 8-10 feet of water held plenty of trout. I had to keep moving, but when a fish was caught, there were 3 or more in the same area. Ended the trip with 70+ trout on TroutEye jigheads coupled with Gulp! 3" shrimp and DOA paddle tails. Lots of short fish, but at least 50% were keepers. Nothing over 18". It looks like we are in for several days of seasonal weather, so things shouldn’t change much until there is a major water temperature change. Go get em!

Great report. Good to hear about the trout coming back down there. Now pray for warm weather!

Thanks for the report. I’d noticed the good weather report and low tide swings and was trying to decide if I could get a few day fishing in and also finish the honey do Christmas prep list. Your report made my mind up to pack my bags and head to Edisto on Tuesday planning to fish Wednesday - Friday.

Awesome! I like the trout eye jig heads. The only issue I’ve had was the eyes coming off. I started to put superglue around the eye before I use them and I haven’t had a problem since.

al8995 how often has this happened? It’s the very first I’ve heard that. I’ve never had an eye come off. Thanks
