beautiful Sunday fishing...

wow… way pretty on sunday. took a buddy and had our 4 kids on the boat. red snapper, bliners, bsb and a big sand tiger that consumed about an hour. No hard feelings KT but had i known thats what it was earlier, i would have cut the line earlier.

overall a great day but dang i’m ready to start dragging something.

ended up the day sight casting into the bonita schools… all bonita were safely released:stuck_out_tongue:

Nice, I was going Sunday until I woke up with a 6" dia. live oak limb sticking out of my roof. Had to play roofer instead of playing.:frowning_face::frowning_face:Glad someone had a good day…

What did you catch those Bonita on?

We were out there yesterday and those schools were everywhere. We caught one on a whole squid when the school got close to where we anchored.

Try casting ahead of the schools with inshore gear and a heavy spoon. What a riot! Sometimes snake kings down below the schools so try letting the spoon drop and then reel fast.

i gotta tell ya that since those guys at hadrells put me on the butterfly jigs i’ll pretty much keep one rigged up in the boat at all times. everything hits them, or it seems… the bonita hit it, caught all the bottom species on it, king macks luv it, flounder… pink and white- can’t go wrong.

great pic of the Sand Tiger. They have a set of jaws that look just like a Mako, except for little cuspids on the side of each tooth. BTW that shark is federally protected. That was a great fish bag!

hey just because a fish like that sandy tiger is federally protected does that mean that you can’t wrestle them? i’ve got some great pics at my office of KT/PanicAttack wrestling with him after we cut em loose…

is there some sort of sand tiger migration that is going on… seems like they are everywhere.

Nice shark there Rusty Hook!:smiley:Just the kind of bite I’m always after. How far offshore were you when you caught this beast?

this is a known breeding ground for them

HEY RUSTY WHERE WERE YOU GUYS FISHING AT I WAS PLANNING TO TAKE MY BOY FISHING OUT THER SATURDAY AND THOSE LOOK LIKE SOME GOOD FISH. WE WOULD LOVE SOME ACTION LIKE THAT.AND WHAT DO YOU USE FOR BAIT. THANK YOU VERY MUCH

we fished the commanche first and then went up to y73… cut bait and squid caught most of what we kept. we never really scored any great live bait on the sabiki but…, maybe next time.

Looks like we missed a good day, forecast for rough seas and high winds. Went to fish the creeks but didn’t even put the boat in because it was so rough at Limehouse. Wife and I rode out to Edisto and was surprised to see the sea was like glass.
