Been too busy lately and haven’t been out in a long time. Made it out today in the kayak at high tide. Poled around and waded quite a bit. Ended up with an even dozen reds on a small, dark crab pattern. A couple were real studs.
Nothing better than slogging around in the mud chasing redfish on a 79 degree December day. It was great to get back on the water.
They weren’t actively tailing. In the morning they were just layed up on the leeward side of the hummock islands warming up. Later in the day they started cruising and feeding. I would be drifting through an opening in the marsh grass and they would be cruising the edges feeding.
