IGA had whole fryers on sale two for $5.00. After having the holders from a couple of Christmas ago decided to try beer butt chicken. Rubbed one down with some Poultry seasoning and olive oil, did the second one for me. Injected with garlic butter and texas pete. Called for only half can of beer and plug up the neck cavety with an onion. I put some liquid smoke in the beer. Recipe called for 1-2 hours on indirect heat. Out of all the meat out there Chicken is the only one I don’t like uncooked so we went 3 hours. Skin was nice and crispy and meat was very moist. Easy and good. I can see a lot of variations to this.
I believe using a double deuce it would work good on a turkey breast.
Try smoking one just like you would smoke a chicken but place a half can of apple juice and put tony catchers all over inside and out. Some of the best chicken you will ever eat.
