Behind IOP...2 reports

Went out last week to a creek behind IOP that I knew held fish during the winter. Wasn’t a large school, but 10-12 fish, bunched up at low tide in pools only accessible by kayak. I wasn’t able to land the fish I could see over the winter months. I was too aggressive with my approach and would often times spook the school before I got the chance to even cast at them. Ended up landing 3 reds, 2 slot and 1 just above slot. Caught on Zman paddlerz and jerk baits. Caught a dink trout on way back to landing.

Went out today…skunk city. A crystal clear creek last week looked like chocolate milk. Must be from all the rain. I didn’t even think about it until I saw how nasty it was. I tried trolling, docks, multiple plastics, even a dead finger mullet on bottom. Nothing…

But it is great to be back on the water.

IOP is my go to area

Connor,
Hit me up when you plan to go out. My work keeps me moving on the weekends,at least right now, but I am free during the weekdays quite a bit.

Good luck out there.
