It was such a beautiful day yesterday, I couldn’t stand it any longer and had to get the family on the water. Convinced the wife that now was the time to get the little one out for the first time. Cooler weather, no wind, no boats on a Sunday afternoon because of school and lack of fish cooperating.
Put the boat in around 6:30, hardly a sole at the ramp. Just a large group of sunset kayakers. Leisurely put the boat in and drifted outside the no wake zone and jumped in with my 5 year old for a swim. Water was perfect. 81.7 on the sonar. Got in and decided to drift across the lake to see if there were any fish in the big water and to watch the sunset between Spence and Pine islands. Beautiful flat water, nice breeze, picture perfect sunset, and to top it off I marked some fish in 140’ and dropped a jig doen for about 5 minutes and got a 22" fish. Landed the fish, and headed back to the hill. Gave away the catch to a very happy group of people who struck out by the towers, and was home and had the kids in bed by 9:00.
Perfect evening, it will make convincing the wife that we need to go again that much easier.
