Somewhat reluctantly I am putting a swim platform on the back of my boat. I didn’t have the time or money for a custom job so I found a good one online. The only issue I have is that the mounting holes on each bracket are about an 1.5" to far apart (from top to bottom) to fit on my transom. I need to have the brackets bent a little more to move the mounting holes in. I know I can’t simply bend them as the pipe is likely to crimp at the radius of the bend. Would a welding shop be able to bend these a little further? Any other ideas?
Thanks
This is one of two brackets. I just need a tighter radius bent.
If it’s only 1 1/2", I’d tweek it myself. Use a bar clamp/pony clamp & pull the ends closer to each other. Go just a little further than you need to allow for spring back. If you want to come by the house sometime, I’ll be glad to help you out. Anytime today is good, tomorrow morning before 11:00 would work too. (It can’t be any later, I’ve got to drive to Charlotte Airport to pick up the ol’ lady.)

It is likely tubing and not actually pipe. There is minimum bend radius info available and it depends on the OD and wall thickness. Google tube bending locally as there are shops that have the benders to do it easily. Mechanical contractors also have bending equipment. Piece of cake.
This might be a little off topic, but you said you had 2 handles and one needed to bent down a little. It sounds like you have a platform for an inboard/outboard as the platform for outboards only have one bar/handle. That because the transom cutdown doesn’t lend itself for another mount like this, and they just use the angled support bar underneath. An I/O doesn’t have a transom notch cutdown so in can support mounting both. Not sure if you can swap it out, or you just have to make this work.
I called it pipe, pretty sure in actuality that it is heavy-walled tubing. And there are 2 handles and they both need to be bent slightly. Bob offered to help but I can’t seem to get away right now. I appreciate all the input am an confident I’ll get it done.
Thanks again for the offer to help Bob, can’t seem to get away from my own house to get out your way.

You know you’re welcome anytime, Doug.
Take the d**n thing and stand it up on the garage floor or driveway & put a little down pressure on it. Just don’t put your full weight on it until you see how it moves, just spring it a little bit. It will move easier than you think. You should be able to move it enough to work. If it moves too much, step on it & pull up a little. You might have to do either a couple of times. You will have to bend the mounting tabs a little to get them back flush.
You can do it Doug!
