went to beresford creek today. Caught 5 reds 23.5, 23(mem.dinner), 26.5, 28, and one 31 incher. had blast. never thought i would love kayak fishing this much, hooked line and sinker. caught 2 trout, kept the gut hooked 14incher, one stingray (of course), and lost a few grubs to the Blues. Did finally manage to land one of those pesky bluefish. Boat traffic was a little rough on the way back w/ all the skiers and tubers, but i gain more confidence in the yak.all in all a great day.
Great Fishing…….I’ve read several reports on Beresford Creek. It seems to be a hot spot for Redfish action. Is there any place public place were I can launch my yak in the creek? I’d like to try it someday soon after work.
I don’t know where a public landing is close, i go through a neighborhood. There is always the possibility of getting my truck towed… I had permission to fish a dock there, but not the landing part. so far so good.

“Thinking of trying the trolling motor out sometime on the yak but a bit concerned about the lawman. Did you register your yak and put numbers on it?”
depends on what day u call dnr, or who u talk to, as far as does it need to be registered. I decided to go ahead, for $40 for the 1st 3yrs. and like $16 to renew or something. better to be safe than sorry. definitely worth every penny, for me.
i’ll be in touch next time i head out. Carolinared is trying to make a 4day fishing trip here about mid june, i’ll let u know.
