Best Battery for 25hp Jon Boat

I finally get the old thing running again and now my battery won’t hold a charge. What is the best option out there? No electronics on it yet but I may add a small trolling motor and a simple GPS/FF. Do I need a cranking or deep cycle battery?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Dual purpose battery is what I use on the j boat…I can charge it and get about 3 trips out of it before recharging.

Either deep cycle or dual purpose. A 25 hp doesn’t require a lot to start and these batteries will perform better with a trolling motor.
