Best Boat towing service for membership?

I just got my first boat  and I plan on being out on the water a lot this summer. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the different boat towing services out there? I want to purchase a membership somewhere so that I’m safe on the water, but my budget is already really tight with fixing up my boat. I just got a membership with West Marine and it comes with a small package from BoatUS. I’m wondering how they compare price/service wise to SeaTow. Who do yall use and how do you like them? Any thoughts/experiences/reviews would be helpful!
Thanks!

I have SeaTow with the trailer package. The only time I’ve used them was when I had a trailer problem. They paid for the towing of my boat back to my house. They seem to be real good people. I have called them a couple of times on the radio to see if they could hear me and they have answered immediately.

SEATOW!..or FRIEND TOW…Seatow probably faster and more reliable! Owner and employees are great!

SeaTow.

I cannot say anything good or bad about SeaTow but, I can say something good about TowboatUS. I have had a BoatUS membership for about 4 years now and unfortunately, have had to use them twice. I say unfortunately not for the service received, but just because I had to use them at all. One time I ran low on 2-stroke oil while shrimping. Within 30 minutes of calling, there they were, with a gallon of oil. The other time, I was grounded (good) up in Bulls Bay at night. Within 45 minutes, Capt. Woody was there to get me unstuck (and if he laughed, he at least waited until I couldn’t hear him). That was a tough run on a moonless night, all the way from the backside of Sullivan’s Island. Their service is wonderful and the owners are super nice folks.

Capt. Anthony runs a great operation with Sea Tow. You would not be dissatisfied if you went with them.

I just moved to this area only 6 months ago, but have been a boat us member since 2005. I have not complaints and even use them as my marine insurance company for both my boat and pwc’s.

I picked BoatUS because I boat in Florida a couple of times a year and the comments down there were more favorable towardd BoatUS and there are more down there. You may want to look into other areas you may boat in.

I have TowBoat US but you really can’t go wrong with either.

I have TowBoat, it is only $35 a year if you insure your boat through them, that too is also reasonable

  2. that thing you get just moments after you needed it.

They’ll both come get you if you’re a member, and if you’re not a member you’ll pay bookoo dollars.

Boat US and if you don’t have your Insurance with Strickland Marine, you are probably paying to much! I know from experience.

So true. My ungrounding bill would have been $980.00 if I had not had tow insurance.

Tow Boat US has served me well for 13 years - and I have used them several times.

SeaTow is out of Shem Creek, and does a great job as well.

Either way -its a worthy investment for the peace of mind, and will save you money if you use it just once every 3-4 years.

we have towboat an they have been great, had to use them twice great service. Even one other time 60 miles up the savannah river called
them, said it would be about 3hours but would be there. thank goodness got a tow from a friend. they even called back to make sure
we got home safe.

Both provide good service to this area. I have Tow Boat.

Seems to me the most sensible dollars any one that spends time on the water can spend, boy was I glad when Tow Boat came to Bohicket. I’ve never had to call but it sure is nice when you run them old 2 stroke motors like me! Like Chris V said and I heard it before they ain’t scared to come if its nasty weather.

Tow Boat! I like that I can talk to them 50 miles out and they will relay info to family if needed. Steve helps out at all the CF events as well.
