I’m going to respell my TLD 25/50’s for the upcoming season. Was going to go with 40# for the TLD25’s and 50# with the TLD50’s. What is your recommendation for mono brands.

I’ve got suffix on mine now and its ok, I’ve used Momoi before and it seemed to be ok too

Momoi hi catch diamond for the reels (I prefer the blue). Jinkai monofilament for leader material (blue again). If you are really feeling sneaky you can run seaguar fluorocarbon for your leader.

For 40lb I’ve always used Trilene Big Game - actual line tests at 54lb breaking strength (according to Sports Fishing magazine tests) and it is about the same diameter as Suffix 30lb - it is readily available and comes in 1/4 spools around $6-$7 most places in clear, dark green, and fluorescent lime-green. The 1/4 spool holds 370 yards which is the perfect topshot for me over my braid backing - plus if I cut off, I can more easily re-spool on the boat with a fresh spool - I always have a couple of fresh spools in ziplocks on board. One l-lb spools hold about 1500 yards I think. Used this stuff for 20 years and never failed me yet.
