put in at boat ramp at about 10:00…went up the “Ashley” …got to the spot and 1st cast with a sapphire shine…bam…17 inch red…day looking good so far…picked up two or three more reds in that area and then decided to head Way up the “Ashley”.…Got up there around 12:00 and high tide up there was 1:49 fished untill about 2:40 (an hour after high tide) without one single bite…so I decide to head back to my docks I started at earlier in the day and on the way I see my lonely old dock that sits there all by it’s lonesome (Vinman and his son nicked named it Robert’s dock)…And, well, I decided to go over and give her a try…1st cast with the Ralph Trout Special rigged with 1/4oz jig head and a sapphire shine…BAM…big one on…wrapped me aroung the dock piling and broke my line…so I grabed my old trusty Flueger that I had rigged with the same bait and threw again…BAM another fish on …Just like Ron (Redsneck) yesterday, I caught fish after fish after fish after fish…I started fishing that spot around 3:50pm and by the time I left at about 5:00 (an hour and 10 minutes total)…I had caught over 40 red fish …and lost about 5 or 6 to the pilings…WAS UPWARDS OF 50 FISH</font id=“red”>!!!..UNBELIEVABLE DAY!!!..I have never been in a school of reds like that and caught so many fish from one spot in my entire life!!!..Amazing day on the water!!!..Can’t believe I had a day like that on DECEMBER 17th!!!..Incrediable!!!..Water temp was 57.8 degrees, clear to 3 foot and all the fish caught on that dock was on the upper part of outgoing tide to about half way out!!!..here are some pics!!
these were the first two fish I caught …small 17-18 inch fish…but, as I stated above…it got a WHOLE LOT BETTER!!!

And @ LSK…the WAY YOU ROLL…I find it hard to believe you don’t catch flounder…Your an amazing angler…catching sheeps, going off shore in your 17 foot Scout, and throwing a 10 foot (or something like that) cast net…Remarkable!!..you got it going on!!!
Those are some awesome fish Bugs. We went out today, and didn’t catch nothin.
“In every species of fish I’ve angled for, it is the ones that have got away that thrill me the most, the ones that keep fresh in my memory. So I say it is good to lose fish. If we didn’t, much of the thrill of angling would be gone.” Ray Bergman
