I know lake murray has a lot of stripers. But it seems pretty rare that someone catches a trophy. Maybe because of the frequent fish kills from SCE&G. What lake in south carolina would give you the best chance of catching a 40+ pounder? Also what time of year are the trophies caught? Just curious what your opinions are
Lake Hartwell and Lake Russell produce a lot of fish in the 20 to 40 lb range. However there the best time to catch these mammoths are in january and february, usually in deep water around the dams. Hope this helps.
Why do today What you can put off til tommorrow to go FISHING!

Yep, his correct on that. Most of the real big fish are caught in the winter. Russell does not have the numbers of fish but you can catch a big fish there
