What do you think is the best lure for trolling? I normally use bucktails, about 3 weeks ago I had real good luck wiht a jointed Rapalla! In the last week I have not had any good with either.
I’ve had good luck in Lake Marion on rebel and rapala’s, both
broke back and straight. Caught 2 largest last year on crome and
blue rattletraps.
Cisco Kid(sp) for big fish! Bright colors broken backs work well too.

yes i made it out and no my luck is not any better…i did have some big hits but they never would actually bite…had my poor bait running like crazy…i actually watched one on the graph come off the bottom,a good 30/40 ft(i mean it was a streak!!!)…scared my bait to death,i thought my bait was going to jump out of the lake…it was cool to see all that but i sure wish he would have bitten my hook…
i will try again early monday morning…i think i will troll this time…
seems like the stripers have moved up river…thats what i am told…i sure wish they would stay put until i master my technique…

Stripers stay put for no man. I can’t remember all the days I have come up empty only to hear that someone tore them up a half mile from where I turned around to head in. I went yesterday after work until just after dark and only hung a deep running plug. I think it floated up after the hooks rusted off and I hung the line. I pulled the plug in and trying to bring in all the line to throw it away but the other end was hung-up. I believe there was a rod at the other end that was yanked out of someone’s boat while trolling across the point. I’d like to hook-up with someone and go to Hartwell or Russell sometime. I have a few days vacation to use before the end of the year so weekdays are okay.

hey taz…that might have been my rod…i lost half of one my first weekend out…boy that was an expensive weekend.
i plan on going out sunday morning and monday morning this weekend…will be on hartwell at springfield camp ground…site 57 look me up if anyone is interested…

can’t promise you any fish but i bet i will be very entertaining,especially when i talk to the fish thru my fish finder…i tell them i don’t want to keep them,i just want the fight…i think i have seen some of them actually give me the finger(i mean fin) back…
