Best place to stay , considering

Hey folks , it’s been a long time since I posted but I have been watching . many new ones and some old ones here have left us (sad face)

I want a little help if you please , what I want is names of decent places to stay if I bring my boat down from the upstate for 2 or 3 days at a time . Motels don’t seem to be the place in my opinion and well camping would be out unless a buddy came down with a camper .

Where at you might ask , well it really doesn’t matter much . Just looking mostly for inshore or the bay where decent boat ramps are close by for a 17.5’ Scout CC … I have been saying I was going to shrimp for the last 4 or 5 years but have not made it yet , another thing on the list to do .

Edit here : not only to try for the shrimp but to fish for about anything that bites during the rest of the year , thanks

Any advice appreciated .

Oh Bonzo if I don’t get any advice tell your wife I will be staying in your yard

still finding beer cans from the last time Sid…

no motels and no camping, but for 2-3 days at a time…I think that might be a tough order…aren’t there some cabins down on Edisto or something?

The Morris Island Lighthouse www.savethelight.org

Yeah, just had a friend show me pictures of the cabins out at the state park in Edisto, really nice and they were really affordable… I would check that out if I were you…

A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.

I already have dibs on his FROG.

I think there are cabins at the KOA on 17N in Mt Pleasant also.

Thanks , I’ll look at these options . I checked both places a couple of months ago so maybe I can find an open date . How is the fishing around Hunting Island State park , anybody know ?

Thanks again Sid

Shrimping season you could stay at edisto and make the run over to StHelena sound. Not a long run and some pretty good daytime shrimping as long as the wind isn’t howling. Lots of houses rent out for weekends that time of year. Also a few during the summer months rent for just weekends also, but most are pretty booked up the time of year.

Check edisto realty, kapp Lyons or attwood.

Thanks tiger , I left out I want to fish now for flounder , reds , etc for the rest of the year too so I made an edit to my first post. What you said makes sense , thanks . I will check them out .

Just another cool thing about this site , people helping people

Some good inshore fishing in edisto too. If you want to come down and really shorten the learning curve, send RADDADDY a pm and book him for a day while you’re down.
