Best Radar Package

Best Radar Package out there for 26’ center console without breaking the bank?

I am partial to furuno, only because I have worked on a bunch of them and I have spent alot of time working with them. I would say find a unit compatible with your current chartplotter. IMO those with radomes do not seem to have the target resolution that open arrays do, but that just may be in my mind. I would say get a unit over 2KW of power output… obviously, the more power, the higher range. More importantly, whatever unit you decide, learn how to manipulate it to get the most out of it.

Furuno Navnet. You get a gps/plotter, bottom machine, & a radar.

thanks for the input! I was leaning towards Furuno or Garmin

Don’t go Garmin have the 3210 GPSMap (dated) unit and hate it. Garmin customer service is the worst.

Simrad is my first choice for screen quality. Lowrance 2nd choice. Simrad & Lowrance are owned by same company. The overlay with electronic charting is the best. Just installed Lowrance 4G Broadband on a Southport and with fine tuning, seaclutter off picked up birds flying across the marsh with dome unit.

I’ve had a Rayethon on my offshore boat for years, no problems! Wish I had one on my striper boat!

My experience with Furuno radar found it to be less user-friendly/intuitive to my brain as the others. I particularly like controls and touch-screen of my new Simrad evo2.

Nothing but good things to say about Garmin and their customer service…the newer hd radar is far better than the older units…

SAFMC you suck!

Garmin has my vote for sure. User friendly and good customer service!
