Best rod for new Stradic 2500

TFO tactical . Liking these … I have the 7’ CB and the 7’3" both M. St Croix premier … Defintely go check them out first… best of luck and congrats on the new reel ~

Shimano Teramar 7’4" medium $100 and lifetime overcounter warranty and you can get em out haddrells. I use 2 of them for DOA shrimp and light weight jigs and unweighted jerk baits. Maybe an ounze heavier than TFO or Loomis but when matched with a 2500 size reel and braid balances perfect and throws far with those size baits.

they are a little more than the price point specified, but if you have not looked at the new Star Seagis rods you might want to. IMO, best feeling rod I have picked up in a long time without going well over $200 in price. Match perfectly to a 2500, featherweight, tangle free guides, and very cool real seat on it. $149-$159 depending on length you choose. that being said there have been a lot of good rods named already in this thread…pick your poison!

I second the ugly stick, I have 4 4000stradicson uglys and shimanos rods. The uglys are great, they don’t break. I have broken 3 shimanos in the last 3 years. Yeah they have a lifetime warranty, but the uglys are still goin strong. I use these setups as much as charter captains.

For my “finesse” setup I use the $99 7’ TFO - Charleston Angler has them. I love this rod, light, quick, balanced and plenty of backbone. I will get a few more of these in the near future.

For non finesse - bait dunking kind of rods. I third the ugly stick’s. I have the salt water series, cork grips, light enough, stiff enough, tough as hell. Great for your not so skilled fishing buddies… and they cost $60.

I like the specs and feel.of the star stellar lite, and the st croix mojo inshore, and he shimano teremar. I’m lokking for a rod for the symetre 2500 or 3000 and I think ill get the teremar for a 3000 and the ML star stellar lite for a 2000 symetre or battle. There all kinda the same so its a tough choice

I’ve got sticks that I usually spend 100 - 300 bucks on. But I found some “Calico Jacks” from Hurricane that are pretty dang nice. 50 - 60 dollars…

Well I can tell nothing fishes like a GL3 or Green Water(depending on what type of fishing your doing). And you can lift the fish in the boat & break the tip if ya want it’s your rod! And when it breaks you can send it back with a $20 processing fee & receive a brand new rod.

None of the above comments are recommended to be done by an armature. Please leave breaking rod tips to the professionals!

why don’t you just go to the tackle shop and get the one that feels the best to you?

When building a combo, you should acquire the rod first, then match a reel to it. Not the other way around.

The rod is the most important part, and where your money should be spent. Reel is secondary

I use Gary Yamamoto rods with titanium guides that are made for use with braid. He builds a very good spinning rod with nice balance. Go to www.baits.com

I’m very satisfied with my teremar and symetre 3000
