What are your thoughts on brand, speed, and length?
Depends on the budget. Shimano, all star, and st.c for a 100 budget.

Keep it simple. One pick under $125 to use for the rest of your life with stradic 2500.

Go to Haddrells point and handle rods in that price range. What I like might not be your cup of tea.

Greenwaters start at $205. Let me back up and clarify my question as it seems to be difficult. I am purchasing three new Stradic 2500s. I would like suggestions on rods to match which cost no more than $150 a piece. Obviously, they will not last the rest of my life, but I would want to like them so much that I would want to continue to buy them for the rest of my life. A brand and model # would be sufficient. Thanks…
TFO all the way $99 I have 4 of them 7’ med action… Mine have CI4 3000s mounted on them tho

Used a temple fork while bone fishing in the abacos, beet rod I’ve handled. Although it wasnt a long casting rod, it was by far the most accurate. Teramar is also a good rod that fits the budget.

For those with knowledge, is there a significant enough difference between the greenwater and the TFO to justify spending an extra $125, being they are both Loomis designs. Also, let’s compare the TFO to the teramar. Thanks for the input!
When selecting a rod, I try to think in terms of how it will be used. I fish a lot of articificals, so the size and weight of lure I will be using most often are key elements. Typically, my rods are light with a fast action (like at TFO). For bait, I don’t cast as much and do not have the need to feel the lure. So a slower action and heavier rod (like a Terramar) works fine.
Now a days, there are a lot of great rod choices out there. However, they will be bad choices if you do not match the rod to your style of fishing.
Im a huge fan of the star stelar lite and the Penn Legion rods. Both available at Haddrels
Three-fourths of the Earth’s surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.
I love my greenwaters they are great rods I also have a 7 ft st. croix that i use with a stradic 2500 which is awesome, but fishtales had it right pick a rod that is best suited for what you are going to use it for.
St Croix 7 foot.Never lift any fish into the boat with the rod.The tip will snap.

I have my stratic on a 7’ ML Ugly stick inshore select rod. I have been using this setup for about 1-1/2 years and love it. I think the rod costs about $60.
Flats blue rods or tfo’s Can’t go wrong with either.
Light jigs and weightless flutter hooks. Finesse red fishing. TFO? Greenwater? GL3? Keep the input coming…
Check out the Legion inshore rods for $99. The LEGIN815S70 would be a perfect match with a 2000-3000 size reel. Great rod for throwing artificial. It has an XF action with plenty of back bone. Both Haddrell’s and The Charleston Angler carry them.
AFFILIATED WITH PENN FISHING TACKLE [http://www.pennreels.com/]
Check the TFO tactical(drop shot)for jig/trout tricks.Loomis GL2 7’ ML or TFO 7’ ML for popping corks.Very close actions.Go to a medium for your redfish rod.
I have a couple of Teremars and while I like them after fishing with the lighter rods they feel a bit like clubs.
Take a look at the 7’6" falcon gulf spin medium fast I can almost hang with the old school hi float boys throwing my popping corks now
I think I paid just under 100$ with tax for it
I got a couple 7’ Shimano Teramars as well and like them a lot just can’t cast um quite as far with popping corks and bait
