Best Rod Length?

I’m sure this has been asked plenty of times before, but my search function is down… sometimes it doesn’t work on my “smart"phone. I’m looking to add a couple of inshore setups to my arsenal, see post Inshore Combos?? In the inshore discussion. And all the rods I’m looking at are available in 7’ or over. I’m not interested in going less then 7’ again really. I’m just wondering what’s the best length from a kayak perspective. I think a 7’6” rod would be a little hard to manage? And netting fish seems like a problem with that long of a rod. And yes I watch toobusys video’s but he makes netting look easy (years of practice:wink:), my netting doesn’t look like that. I’m etting another trout setup for poppin corks and topwaters for trout fishing, 2 more inshore all around rods with a 2000 and a 3000 for DOA’s and freelining live baits and poppin corks and even some flounder rigs, and another dock redfishing and sheepshead setup. What’s the best length for these? Thanks yall

I you want to throw soft plastics long distances a long rod will help but if you are bait fishing a long rod can easily be snapped when you try to net our fish right at the kayak and put too much pressure on the rod… IMO longer rods are a gimmick, I like a 6’6’ max length for my rods on a kayak unless it is a fly rod and then if I can find an 8ft I am a happy camper… If you do buy those longer rods make DANG sure you get ones with lifetime warranties… I forsee a few snapped tips in your future…
