What are the best rods right around the hundred dollar mark, give or take a few bucks?
1000 finesse trout reel, to feel everything and have a super light setup?
2500 or 3000 reel for medium action, anything inshore stuff, lot off poppin cork fishin, I wanna be able to feel anything going on on my line.
4000 reel setup. I want something that has the power to bull big sheeps out of pilings and reds off of docks but that I have a sensite tip to feel those sheepie bites? I kinda have an idea for this rod, the ugly stik lite.
And yes I know that castability and senstivity can be incresed by using braided line. Thanks y’all just lookin for some inshore rods that I can use to upgrade my reels on, don’t want a nice reel (penn battle) on a cheap rod (cabelas custom). Preferably stuff sold at HPT or CHS angler.

for better sensitivity i recommend a lightning rod. theyre made by berkley , graphite, but around $40. back home i did a lot of walleye fishing in lake erie and tributaries and anyone with much walleye experience would likely agree with me that even a 10+ pound walleye feels like a little crappie when it bites, much like a sheepshead is 1 little tap and thats it. i could feel hits twice as well with the lightning rod, caught twice as many walleye because i felt hits better (several of which were over 10lbs and against river current), and even in charleston works great for flounder and trout bites, yet even though not as tough as an ugly stick still holds up to the punishment from a redfish no problem and id be very willing to put it against a baa fish too. pretty sure you could find a lightning rod anywhere between ultralight and medium heavy, which will cover everything you described. mine is 7 foot, spinning, medium action, and 1 piece and works fine for inshore fishing and surf fishing for whiting…however hooking a massive stingray on shrimp intended for whiting put it to the test!!! hope that helped ya.

I’m liking the battle/fierce on a legion combo. A battle or fierce 4000 and 7’ M penn legion rod? Sound good for sheepshead and redfish on docks? What’s a good rod for the finesse trout with a shimano 1000 or penn 1000? Now that I have a job and no overhead charges I’m feelin pretty rich. I’ve noticed some shimano stuff online the clarus teremar ect, not sure of price. Those good rods?
