at that price point i’d rather have a nice pump rather than a cheap semi-auto.

I beg to differ, i have a brand new 26" barrel Super Nova in max4 at my house that I just shot. I hate it. The stock feels cheap, it just doesnt feel like a high enough quality gun to warrent being 699 brand new. I'd my 2 year old 870 I shoot twice a week against that gun any day

Mark, just stop. They’ll think you’re being mean.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Stoeger automatic, bought one about 8 years ago for a cheap duck gun. Never any issues: over 5000 shots at skeet, hunt deer, and even used as a paddle in a duck boat without any issues all for under $600. Made in same factory as Bennelli

Save up a little more money, and purchase a decent gun. I would never recommend a Baikal. I’m a Beretta man, but the 3901 is the Walmart gun. There are two types of Stoeger owners ones that have had problems, and ones that will soon. No matter what people say having a weapon that doubles as a paddle is just dumb. And if they haven’t figured out that there is no need for a 3.5 inch shell then they have some learning to do.

I’d call BS but you might have an anomaly. Seriously doubt you’ve shot 5000rnds of “Skeet” with a Stoeger and never had an issue though. I’ve seen them have issues after the first station or first shot at anything. I’m not trying to hurt anyone’s feelings but a Stoeger is a POS, plain and simple.

As to made in the same factory as a Benelli, uhmm, no it isn’t. Stoeger’s are mass produced parts from the cheaper source venders and assembled in the US to get around a few import laws and Taxes. The machining and tolerances aren’t even close to that of the Benelli SBE, M2, Cordoba or any of the rest of them. People spreading this sort of rumor don’t know what they are talking about. The only similarity of the the Benelli and a Stoeger is the use of the inertia based action.

My SBE say Made by Heckler and Koch, or H&K, does your Stoeger say made by H&K?

People that buy a shot gun based on price alone are missing the point of the shotgun. You shouldn’t have to learn to shoot a shotgun, you shouldn’t ever have to adjust your hold or modify the way you mount a shotgun. You shouldn’t have to “aim” a shotgun. A shotgun should fit and be an extension of your arm, sightline and mechanics.

Save the money or buy a used gun that fits you.

I’m getting one of those ugly ass Cynergy Synthetics with 3.5" chambers soon. Just got to find one with 30" tubes and not in the Grass pattern. Need something that doesn’t hurt my feelings if it gets scratched. Plus I want the 3.5" since a got a bunch of 3.5" #1 and #4 buck, it’s great on pigs.
